What is the Correct Name for a Garbage Container?

A garbage container is a type of mobile waste receptacle designed to be carried and transported by a special collection vehicle, or to a specially designed container. This week, the Associated Press made a change to its style guide that has the word garbage dump in lower case. This comes after capitalizing the word in the past, since Dumpster is a generalized trademark of an American brand for a type of mobile garbage bin. Garbage containers are also known as rolling containers due to the wheels on the bottom that help transport the containers.

With capacities ranging from 10 to 40 cubic yards, they are an ideal solution for a wide range of cleaning projects, including building remodeling, demolition, roof removal and garden waste.

Dumpster

is the name, for North America (including the United States and Canada), for a large metal garbage container. Outside of the United States, the receptacle is called a front load container or a front load bin.
